This machine is designed for pure oil-based essential oils only. It is not a humidifier — do not add water or use water-based essential oils, as this will block the mist outlet and permanently damage the machine. If your essential oil is very concentrated, you may dilute it with 70% or higher concentration alcohol at a ratio of 10 parts oil to 2 parts alcohol. Do not add water to dilute.
